Winter is a time of increased danger

Winter is a time of increased injury. The reason is often ice, early darkness, and slippery shoes. The deterioration of the condition of the roadway affects the increase in the frequency of road accidents and the increase in the number of victims. According to statistics, winter injuries account for up to 15% of the incidence of temporary disability. In icy conditions, it is better to stay at home, but if you need to go outside, then wear the most comfortable flat shoes, avoid haste, and avoid dangerous areas.; when exiting public transport or going down the stairs, be sure to hold onto the railing or ask passersby for help.

Chills and frostbite (15-17% of all winter injuries) are another serious problem in traumatology. In case of frostbite, never rub the affected area with snow. To prevent tissue necrosis, warming of the affected area should be gradual!

An aggravating factor of injury is alcohol intoxication, which accompanies injuries in almost 30% of cases. To reduce the risk of falling in icy conditions, the following rules must be followed::

• preferably wear shoes with flat soles or low square heels.;

• you can attach a strip of sandpaper or ordinary adhesive tape to the sole of the shoe, shoes with a fluted sole are better suited.;

• in icy conditions, you need to walk in a special way - as if sliding a little, as if on small skis, stepping on the entire sole.;

take care of yourself!!!

An Active Lifestyle Promotion Week is being held in Russia from January 12 to 18, 2026.

  Physical activity is an important element of maintaining health and a healthy lifestyle. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends 150 minutes of moderate physical activity or 75 minutes of intense physical activity for the full functioning of the human body. Insufficient physical activity is one of the main risk factors for developing diseases. People with low physical activity have a 33% higher risk of getting sick compared to those who devote enough time to physical activity. Increasing the level of physical activity in people reduces the risk of depression and is a prevention of aging.

  The sanatorium's doctors have prepared lectures, talks, films, videos, booklets and flyers about physical activity, diet and disease prevention. Moreover, there is a sports and recreation complex with a total area of 2,500 square meters for physical education in the Krasno sanatorium. It consists of a large sports hall with an area of more than 600 square meters, two gyms, two physical therapy rooms, massage rooms, a sports equipment rental point and a billiard room. All halls are equipped with the necessary modern equipment. Exercise bikes, treadmills, and power sports equipment await vacationers. This complex solved the problem of organizing the individual motor regime of patients. The variety of types of physical therapy, the capacity of the halls, and the available equipment made it possible to increase the coverage of physical therapy for vacationers to 100%. The week of promoting an active lifestyle is an occasion for the whole country to unite with the famous slogan: "A healthy body has a healthy mind"!

The week of responsible attitude to health

A Week of responsible attitude to health is being held in Russia from December 15 to December 21. Responsible attitude to health, on which the quality and duration of human life depend, is perhaps the most important component of healthcare in general. WHO defines responsible health as the ability of individuals, families, and communities to promote health.

                 What does a responsible attitude to health include?:

1. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle;

2. Monitoring your own health;

3. Responsible use of products for self-care of health, proper storage and use of medicines.

Today, people have much more opportunities to prevent the development of serious complications. And the first thing to start with is the correction of modifiable risk factors. These include controlling blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels, abstaining from alcohol and smoking, and adhering to a healthy lifestyle.

The most important rule is to consult a doctor for any complaints, whether it's seasonal acute respiratory viral infections or exacerbation of chronic diseases. But the responsibility lies precisely in the fact that the patient should take care of his health no less than the doctor, because this is primarily in his interests. Regularly undergo preventive medical examinations or medical examinations: they will allow you to identify diseases when there are no symptoms yet. Take care of yourself!

Prevention of the use of nicotine-containing products

Tobacco addiction is one of the most common and dangerous habits of mankind! As part of the National Healthcare Project, in 2025, from December 8-14, a week of prevention of nicotine–containing products is being held in Russia.

Nicotine is a toxic alkaloid. Once in the human body, it affects certain areas of the brain. The receptors located on the bodies of dopamine neurons have the highest sensitivity to it. When interacting, nicotine provokes the release of dopamine, thereby forming a human reflex to receive pleasure after smoking. And at the same time, the so-called "withdrawal syndrome" or "withdrawal reaction". This is a condition after smoking, when headaches, weakness, low blood pressure, increased anxiety and irritability, problems with concentration, etc. may appear. In an effort to get rid of this body reaction, smokers resume tobacco consumption. This is how addiction is formed.

The World Health Organization states that 10% of smokers suffer from cancer caused by tobacco. In 90% of cases, smoking causes lung cancer. At the same time, if someone thinks that e-cigarettes are less harmful than regular ones, they are deeply mistaken. There are no devices that could be used without danger to health.

Smoking is the worst experiment on oneself.  And the best thing a person can do for their health is not to start smoking at all. Take care of yourself!

AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Diseases Awareness Week (in honor of World AIDS Day on December 1)

HIV infection is a disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus. HIV affects the human immune system, eventually making it unable to resist other diseases and infections.

AIDS is the last stage of the development of HIV infection, when the body's immune system exhausts its resources and stops resisting opportunistic foreign agents.  The virus is transmitted from one person to another in only three ways. The sexual path. Through the blood. Infection of a child from an HIV-infected mother. There are no other ways to transmit HIV infection. Today, HIV infection is not a verdict, because timely initiation of treatment, abstinence from drug use, makes it possible to transfer the disease to the category of a chronic controlled disease.

It is necessary to know and remember what will help to avoid HIV infection: protected sexual contact; mutual fidelity of partners to each other. Despite ongoing global efforts to overcome HIV/However, the number of new infections remains very high.

The only way to fight AIDS is to prevent and maintain your body. It is necessary to know exactly your HIV status so that, if the virus is detected in the body, you can start treatment on time without leading to fatal consequences. Take care of yourself!

Week of prevention of gastrointestinal diseases

From November 24 to November 30, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation announced the Week of Prevention of Gastrointestinal Diseases. This week is a great opportunity to remember the simple but effective rules of taking care of your digestive system.  Why is gastrointestinal health so important?

The absorption of nutrients that give us energy depends on it. Up to 70% of the cells of our immune system are located in the intestine. The state of the digestive tract directly affects our emotional state.

The main rules of stomach and intestinal health:

• Balanced diet: Eat more vegetables, fruits, and whole grains rich in fiber. Limit fried, spicy, fast food, and sugary sodas.

• Diet: Try to eat at the same time, in small portions. Don't skip breakfast!

• Sufficient water intake: Drink 1.5-2 liters of clean water per day — it helps digestion.

• Avoiding stressful situations.

• Giving up bad habits.

 In case of gastrointestinal problems, you should not self-medicate. And remember: "It's easier to prevent a disease than to treat it," as the "father of medicine," Hippocrates, used to say.

International Smoking Cessation Day

Every year, on the third Thursday of November, International Smoking Cessation Day is celebrated on the initiative of the International Society of Oncologists and with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO).  The medical staff of the Krasivo sanatorium are joining the information campaign and have prepared lectures, talks, flyers and videos on a significant topic.

    The purpose of the International Day of Smoking Cessation is to help reduce the prevalence of tobacco addiction, involve all segments of the population in the fight against smoking, prevent tobacco smoking and inform society about the harmful effects of tobacco on health.

The tobacco epidemic is one of the most serious threats to public health that has ever occurred in the world. WHO experts note that all forms of tobacco use are harmful to health, and there is no harmless dose of tobacco. In recent years, vapes, which are electronic cigarettes, have become widespread. Smoking electronic devices is promoted as a safe alternative to regular cigarettes. However, e-cigarettes are also unsafe.

It should be noted that with good awareness of the health risks of smoking, people tend to get rid of nicotine addiction, but the habit of smoking is so strong that there is no way to give it up.

We encourage everyone to think about their health and the health of their loved ones!
