Breast Cancer Week (in honor of Breast Cancer Month)

Breast Cancer Week is being held in Russia from October 14 to 20, 2024 (in honor of Breast Cancer Month). Breast cancer (breast cancer) is one of the most common oncological diseases not only in Russia, but also around the world. Breast cancer is a disease in which abnormal cells in breast tissues begin to divide uncontrollably and form a tumor. The earliest form (the socalled "cancer in situ") is not life-threatening. But tumor cells can spread to adjacent breast tissues (invasion). As the tumor continues to grow, a bulky formation or thickening occurs. Invasive cancer can spread to nearby lymph nodes or other organs (metastasize). Metastasis can be fatal. Certain forms of breast tumors (and there are more than 30 types) can occur in half of the female population (i.e., every second woman over 30 years old). Fortunately, the vast majority are benign and do not threaten health. Breast cancer prevention should be mandatory for all women. These are maintaining a healthy lifestyle, proper and balanced nutrition, prevention of stress and conflict situations, giving up bad habits, observing the daily routine, preventive examinations and medical examinations. Take care of yourself and your loved ones! Be healthy!
