Sexually Transmitted Infections Prevention Week

Sexually Transmitted Infections Prevention Week

All—Russian Week of Healthy lifestyle: prevention is the key to health! From July 13 to July 19, 2026, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation announced a Week for the Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs). Prevention reduces the risks of serious consequences. Without treatment, some infections can lead to infertility, chronic inflammation, and other serious conditions. Currently, more than 30 sexually transmitted infections are known.

How to protect yourself from these diseases?

1. Health-saving behavior. This means avoiding sexual contact with people at high risk of infection (so-called "casual" relationships).

2. Regular use of barrier protection equipment. Do not neglect such a proven remedy as a condom. It is a classic means of STD prevention, the effectiveness of which is close to 100%. Using a condom is mandatory for short-term relationships with a partner.

3. Compliance with the rules of personal hygiene. Do not use other people's shaving machines, toothbrushes, towels, washcloths, underwear, and so on.

4. Regular routine checkups.

If the diagnosis is confirmed, you must follow all your doctor's prescriptions accurately. It is dangerous to self-medicate. Remember: prevention is not about fear, but about awareness and respect for your body. Taking care of your health today is confidence in the future. Take care of yourself!
