Put out your cigarette!

Tobacco Cessation Week has been announced from May 26 to June 1, 2025, timed to coincide with World No Tobacco Day on May 31. The medical staff of the Krasivo sanatorium join the information campaign – they hold talks and distribute printed materials about the dangers of smoking.

The purpose of the Week is to help reduce the prevalence of tobacco addiction, involve all segments of the population and doctors of all specialties in the fight against smoking, prevent tobacco smoking and inform society about the harmful effects of tobacco on health.

Tobacco addiction is recognized as one of the most widespread epidemics in the history of mankind - nicotinomania. It is on a par with alcoholism and drug addiction.

Everyone knows that smoking is harmful.  According to the World Health Organization (WHO), people who started smoking in adolescence and have more than 25 years of smoking experience have a reduced life expectancy of 15-20 years compared to those who have never smoked. About 6 million people on the planet – according to the same WHO - die annually as a result of tobacco use. This does not mean that a person lit a cigarette and died immediately. Smokers die from diseases that have arisen in their bodies as a result of smoking – these are diseases of the heart, blood vessels, and lungs. You can always quit smoking. Take care of yourself!

Endocrine System Disease Prevention Week (in honor of World Thyroid Day on May 25)

The endocrine system is one of the key systems in the human body, responsible for hormonal balance and overall health. Diseases of the endocrine system are becoming more common every year.  The main factors that lead to the development of endocrine disorders include: infectious diseases, hereditary factors, chronic diseases of other organs and systems, cardiovascular insufficiency, surgical interventions, and taking a number of medications.

Since hormones produced by the endocrine glands regulate the functioning of organs and systems, endocrine diseases disrupt metabolism and cause symptoms characteristic, for example, of skin diseases, kidneys, etc. There are many causes of thyroid disease, but 90% of thyroid diseases are caused by iodine deficiency.  The consumption of iodized salt helps to prevent endocrine disorders.

Endocrine disease prevention measures often involve lifestyle choices that support overall health and hormonal balance. It is very important to consult with a medical professional for individual recommendations and regular checkups in order to monitor your health and identify any potential problems in a timely manner. We wish you good health!

Week of popularization of the best practices of health promotion in the workplace (in honor of World Labor Protection Day on April 28)

Today, the introduction of corporate programs is an important area for the development of public health protection. In the practice of the Krasno sanatorium, it can be noted that a corporate workplace health promotion program can improve the health of employees, reduce the employer's costs of providing medical and social assistance, and increase labor productivity, which makes it beneficial for both employees and employers.

The corporate program includes the following areas::

1. Healthy eating in the workplace. Specifically, nutrition can affect an employee's ability to do their job effectively.

2. Physical activity is a necessary part of a healthy lifestyle.

3. Quitting smoking. Smokers tend to get sick more often than non-smokers.

4. Abstaining from alcohol intake. Alcohol consumption in the workplace can lead to various medical, social and economic consequences for employees and organizations.

5. Stress management. Stress leads to numerous health problems such as depression, heart disease, diabetes, and obesity.

6. Preventive measures, medical examinations and timely vaccination are the key to healthy active longevity.

We spend about a third of our lives in the workplace, so it is very important to create a healthy lifestyle culture in the workforce. After all, only a healthy team can achieve high results in their work. We wish you good health!

Awareness Week on the importance of Immunoprophylaxis (in honor of World Immunization Week on April 24)

Vaccination is a simple, safe and effective way to protect against diseases before a person comes into contact with their pathogens. Vaccines train the immune system to produce specific antibodies. Russia has adopted the Federal Law "On the Immunoprophylaxis of Infectious Diseases", which establishes the legal framework for State policy in the field of immunoprophylaxis of infectious diseases.

Vaccination is carried out according to the National Calendar of Preventive Vaccinations. Today, we have vaccines to prevent more than 20 life-threatening diseases, thanks to which people at any age can live a longer and healthier life.

Currently, immunization can prevent 3.5 million to 5 million deaths each year as a result of diseases such as diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, influenza and measles.

The right to immunization is an inalienable human right

Vaccination should be carried out not only for children, but also for adults. This is especially true for seasonal flu vaccination. There are separate groups that are priorities for vaccination: comorbid patients, as well as older people of working age. Take care of yourself! Get vaccinated!

Thank you, donor!

The Blood and Bone Marrow Donation Promotion Week (in honor of Donor Day in Russia on April 20) runs from April 14 to April 20, 2025. The medical staff of the Krasivo sanatorium are joining a significant information campaign.

The purpose of the event is to raise awareness about the importance of donation, its role in saving lives and the need for regular citizen participation in this mission. On this day, we express our gratitude to the people who voluntarily and gratuitously donate their blood, which is necessary to save human lives.

About 1.5 million Russians need blood transfusions every year. It has been scientifically proven that blood donation in the amount of up to 500 ml is harmless and safe for human health. The main requirements for potential donors are: age from 18 to 65 years, weight at least 50 kg, good health at the time of blood donation.

Transfusion of blood and blood products can save millions of human lives every year. It helps prolong the lives of patients suffering from life-threatening conditions and improve their quality of life. Transfusion of blood and blood products is necessary during complex medical and surgical procedures. It also plays a vital role in maternal and child health and in the emergency response to man-made disasters and natural disasters. Helping other people is a very noble and useful mission. Remember this!

The All-Russian campaign "10 thousand steps to life"! The sanatorium "Krasivo" invites all active and sporty people to participate in the Action!

The action "10,000 steps to life" is held in the sanatorium "Krasivo" and is based on the optimal daily physical activity recommended by the WHO for the adult population. The campaign provides for the organization of hiking and wellness routes with an instructor and with the possibility of individual accompaniment of the participant. There are excellent conditions for the implementation of the Campaign in the sanatorium "Krasivo". Vacationers of the sanatorium have the opportunity to walk along specially equipped terraces and wellness routes. Each treatment route is marked and developed by specialists.  In addition, the trails for terrencourt take place in picturesque places, among trees, and it is here that beauty psychotherapy and therapeutic walking are combined, which raises the mood.  Such activities are beneficial for the nervous system, heart and lungs. Another favorite among vacationers is the Scandinavian walking method. Walking with Scandinavian sticks has practically no contraindications and is effective in diseases of the cardiovascular system. By the way, it's not for nothing that the motto "If you want to be healthy, walk" was popular in ancient Greece. Both the vacationers of the sanatorium and the staff supported this successful and, one might say, historic Campaign of taking care of their health. We go and recommend it to you!
